I have a question.

Who are you?

We are the Carlson family: Brian, Jade, Sam, Wes, Alma and Flora.

Is everything made by your family?

Brian's woodworking skills bring the candlesticks to life, while Jade's expertise lies in filtering beeswax and patiently hand dipping the tapers. Together we mix our special wood wax.

Our matches are made by one of the last match producers in the United States.

Where do you live?

Home is a small farming town on the eastern edge of Colorado, just a handful of miles from the Nebraska state line where Jade's great grandparents homesteaded in the 1800's.

What materials are used to make your candles?

Pure 100% filtered beeswax and cotton wicks.

What is so great about beeswax candles?

Beeswax, which is produced by bees to make honeycomb, is biodegradable, renewable, sustainable, nontoxic, plus it smells really good.

Beeswax candles have long been used around the world in the various religious traditions as the candles do not soot, an important consideration near icons.

Beeswax can help clean and filter the air while releasing negative ions, the same ions found near waterfalls.

Beeswax candles burn slower, brighter and hotter than other waxes while dripping less. They also create a beautiful, warm glow.

Does the beeswax come from your own bees?

We hope it will someday! We are still novices in the intricate world of beekeeping. It's been an adventure and there is more to come. Currently we procure directly from small beekeepers in Iowa.

What should I know about burning your candles?

Always burn within sight.

To prevent dripping, use out of airflow and drafts.

Take extra care when burning around children and pets.

Breathe in the scent and savor the experience.

Is your Tree + Bee Wood Wax food safe?

Crafted from a blend of walnut oil and filtered beeswax, our wood wax offers a safe and effective solution for enhancing the beauty and durability of your wooden surfaces. It meets food safety standards, but those with nut allergies should be mindful of potential risks.
